Vacation Guide: Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach is a great California dreamin’ destination. Fabulous beaches, a mild climate, and unique shops made special by Laguna’s artist community. Before hitting the shops, try surfing lessons or just some plain, old body surfing at the popular Crescent Bay or Victoria Beach.

For dinner, try The Studio or The Loft, both located on site and boast spectacular cuisine and views. At the Loft, the Coffee crusted steak is not to be missed-- it is famous in the region.

If you want to dine in town, Nick's features California cuisine and an upbeat atmosphere. For sushi, Okura Sushi is the spot. Looking for something sweet after dinner, wander down a picturesque alley into Gelato Paradiso. The smell of the homemade cones will make your mouth water.

A special day or overnight trip is by ferry from Newport Beach to Catalina Island. Have lunch, relax on the beach with some sunning and snorkeling, or for the more adventurous, there are hikes, a zip line eco tour from the high canyons to the beach, bike tours, kayak rentals, or jeep tours, to name a few. Catalina also has Segway rentals, an easy way to cover a lot of territory in a short amount of time. You may also be able to see the Grey Whale migration, when thousands of these whales migrate from their summer feeding grounds in the Bering Sea down to Baja. What a sight!
