The Saguaro Palm Springs, "in 1950's technicolor," has an in-town location with the perfect place pool side to enjoy Palm Springs' endless sunny days. It offers daily yoga, and you can borrow a cruiser bicycle to pedal to your way around town to all the vintage shops. The Riviera Resort and Spa hosted many famous stars in the 1960's, and recently underwent a major renovation and is back to its Hollywood glamourous roots, it even has a sparkly billiards table in its lobby. Another unique property, an old motor lodge, is the bohemian-themed Ace Hotel & Swim Club which boasts outdoor fireplaces and a DJ pool side. The rooms even have "mood lighting," and vinyl records and record players! A nice spot in Palm Springs for drinks is Dink's Restaurant and Ultra Lounge for an al fresco experience and mojitos galore, which reopens later this year after renovations. Shop on El Paseo, the "Rodeo Drive of the Desert..."
Another classic side trip from Palm Springs is Joshua Tree National Park with its super cool lunar and desert landscapes, about an hour away, and is a perfect destination for a day hiking or exploration trip.
