Remember, "into every life some rain must fall." Seems always to be a struggle, though, what to wear on a rainy day, either going to work, to play, or on the road. There is no worse feeling than being all set for your day, and watching your hair and make-up wash away from being sticky and sweaty stuck under a non-breathable raincoat. Or, wearing the perfect outfit, and topping it with an uninspired raincoat. So, Wearever has been looking for some alternatives and fresh ideas for a rainy day to keep up appearances!
As your mother told you, "It's going to rain today, don't forget your rubbers." LOL Finding rainy weather footwear or rain boots is not too difficult- there is the ever popular Hunter Boot, but try the ankle high version to stay a little cooler. Same with the Chooka line of rain boots, try the mid calf height in great patterns and colors. Another fave is the Italian made Aquatalia line of loafers or booties. Kate Spade and Tory Burch also make stylish, easy to pack, jelly or rubber ballet flat to keep dry in. Be Inspired Footwear Suggestion-For a chic look in a sneaker, there is the new limited-edition Converse Jack Purcell Hancock mid-top. The sneaker is water proof, and comes in three easy to match spring 2014 colors, navy, grey and yellow. Pair them up with your casual spring look.
Choosing a rain jacket is a little more difficult, especially if you do not want to sacrifice style, or wear the basic trench, although the basic Burberry or Coach selections always look neat and pulled together. It is a good investment to buy a raincoat you truly love so you are not tempted to leave home without it. The Canadian Company, Trout, just launched its fun spring/summer 2014 collection you can check-out online. The colors would look fab with a pair of the Converse Jack Purcell Hancock sneakers! Lululemon's basic "right as rain" jacket is comfortable, but may be best for casual wear.
For some more style, all time favorites include Moncler's ombre reversible or eufrasia raincoats; Gump's has a nice selection of reversible rain coats; Mackage has a moto inspired rain jacket; Zara offers some good choices at affordable price points; and, of course, the always classic Barbour line of rainy day wear. Finish off the look with a bright, fun umbrella, check out the Blunt Metro XS available in a rainbow of colors, a chunky waterproof watch, and a bright scarf.
