Black Tie at The Cloister Resort in Georgia
Well, this is a good problem to have, should I party hop and go to 2 holiday parties on Saturday night at good friends’ houses, or one black tie ball at a fancy club, or spend the weekend at The Cloister Resort in Georgia? This is a logistical nightmare.
So, The Cloister it is. A short 2 hour plane ride from NYC (in a VERY comfortable, and very new, and “unwrinkleable” Jude Connally long-sleeved shirt and quilted vest paired with Piazza Sempione Audrey slacks-just perfect for plane ride) to either Jacksonville or Savannah, and you are at Sea Island Resort, The Cloister. You will not be disappointed.
The Resort and activities are unbelievable, and the ubiquitous staff could not be nicer. After a day of shopping at almost all the Resort’s specialty shops—tennis shop (bought great v neck Nike exercise top in black and pink, and a swingy zip-up sweatshirt), golf shop (new Sea Island hat), boating and yacht shop (suntan lotion and tee shirt), swim shop (Trina Turk mallot, cover-up and bikini, Ralph Lauren swim trunks for boyfriend), Resort shop (great Tory Birch sweater for next week on the slopes and classic Sea Island turtle ornament), and lunch on the beach, it is time to get ready for the evening’s activities. Maybe, I can squeeze in a spa appointment first--more on the spa tomorrow.
Cocktails on an elegant terrace, dinner in front of a roaring fire, then dancing the night away at an old fashioned Speakeasy with live big band music. Try these outfits for some holiday cheer.
